Five College Book History Seminar with Gigi Barnhill, Curator Emerita of Graphic Arts, American Antiquarian Society (CANCELED)
This event has been canceled.
"How Prints Are Made—Why Does That Matter?"
Gigi Barnhill, curator of graphic arts emerita of the American Antiquarian Society, will be the speaker on March 26. Using the recently launched website of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Drawings and Prints Department, she will introduce us to the materials and process of making woodcuts, engravings, etchings, and lithographs. She will bring original prints for us to closely examine and we can discuss why understanding how and when different processes are used makes a difference.
