Music Undergraduate Degrees & Programs
The Music major leads to the Bachelor of Music (B.Mus.) or the Bachelor of Arts in Music (B.A.) degree.
The B.Mus. is an intensive, professionally oriented degree; the B.A. is designed as part of a liberal arts education experience.
The Minor in Music is an option for focused music study while majoring in another subject.
Students wishing to pursue a B.Mus. or B.A. degree, or the Music Minor, in most cases must audition (except for the B.A. in Music History or Music Theory). Audition dates and requirements are available at the linked pages or from the Music Admissions Director, musicadmissions@umass.edu, (413) 545-6048.
