UMass Dance presents Metamorphose: Inspired by the Artwork of Leonardo Drew

UMass Amherst’s McCullough to Direct NEA-funded Clinical Trial

The National Endowment for the Arts has approved funding for a clinical trial led by Dr. Aston K. McCullough, Assistant Professor of Dance Science in the Department of Music & Dance. The purpose of this two-year trial is to determine the effects of a group-based dance/movement program on physical and mental health in women who are survivors of domestic/intimate partner violence.

Salvatore Macchia Named Chair of Music & Dance Department

Salvatore Macchia, Professor of Composition and String Bass at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, has been named chair of the Department of Music and Dance, effective July 1, 2019. He follows Roberta M. Marvin, who recently completed her three-year appointment as chair.
