Wherever I May Be The Sky Is Mine - MFA Group Show
Opening Reception: Thursday, November 6th 5 - 7 p.m.
An exhibition presesnting works by the 1st and 2nd year MFA students from the Department of Art and curated by Young Min Moon at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Herter Art Gallery presents Wherever I May Be, the Sky is Mine, a group exhibition of current 1st and 2nd year graduate students who critically respond to this era of cacophony of voices and noises, where truths are crumbled by repudiation of facts. The exhibition features artworks that grapple with some of the most urgent issues of our time, yet through modest means. Facing our precarious future, the artists offer various modes of observing, caring, reconsidering, remembering, gathering, repairing, healing, and countering the myth of ‘greatness’ of America.
The artists in this exhibition are Taylor Benoit, Chenda Cope, Sally Curcio, Hannah Duggan, Avery Forbes, Cima Khademi, Nima Nikaklagh, Abbey Paccia, Jessica Scott, and Chaehee Yoon.
