Nine by Nine
A diverse group of artists feature work for the summer exhibition, "nine by nine", 9 artists - each exhibiting 9 works of art. Two of the artists, Sean Greene and Jenn Simms, are MFA alumni from the Department of Art, UMass Amherst.

Time and Place: Works On Paper
The four artists in this show use the medium of paper to convey their memory of places. Their two dimensional work has the added dimension of time and space to acquire depth and intensity. The other three artists are Frances Ashforth, Lori Glavin and Justin Kim. Curated by Fereshteh Priou and Ruth Sutcliffe.

Monika Schmitter, Gallery Talk
Uncover the pictorial delights of Renaissance master Giorgione in a gallery talk with Monika Schmitter, professor of Italian Renaissance and Baroque art at University of Massachusetts Amherst. Schmitter discusses the artistic achievements of the great Italian painter as exemplified in La Vecchia.

In this series of doll sculptures, paper dolls, illustrations and sound the artist intergates messages from letters written to her grandmother over 100 years ago, ones that express hopes for success upon her arrival in Harlem from Jamaica. Terry Jenoure is the Director of Augusta Savage Gallery at UMass Amherst.

2019 Western Massachusetts Visual Art & Poetry Biennial
The Northampton Arts Council is seeking artists and poets from Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin, and Berkshire counties to submit their best work created over the past two years and that best interprets the theme "from seed to fruition" as a literal form or as a work/body of work that has been fully developed.
Submit your work. Deadline: August 1.
